Colonial buildings in Colombo
The Dutch East India Company VOC established the Old Colombo Dutch Hospital in 1681 and is said to have been founded to look after the officers and other staff of the Dutch East India Company.
The building reflects Seventeenth century Dutch colonial architecture and is considered to be the oldest building in Colombo. It is now a happening eating and shopping complex with stores, coffee shops and restaurants.
