Rise up early this day to leave for Wilpattu via visiting the iconic Negombo fish market in the morning. Leaving Negombo to go to Dambulla. This is a bit of a long drive, and it would take roughly around three hours to reach Dambulla. You will be dropped off at the hotel to relax. In the afternoon you will be taken for a once-in-a-lifetime hiking experience at Pidurangala. At the top, you will be able to see the beautiful area of Sigiriya, including Sigiriya Lion Rock.

On day 3 you will see the world famous Sigiriya Lion Rock Fortress. It is best to climb the rock in the morning to avoid the midday heat. And it is best to wear your runners or hiking shoes for grabbing this experience, as you will be climbing very steep, narrow staircases to get to the top to experience the breathtaking view. Later the ancient archaeological city of Polonnaruwa will become your destination. Polonnaruwa is one of the ancient capital cities of Sri Lanka and you will get to see some of the magnificent sculptures and an ancient building still standing till this date.

Today you are heading from Sigiriya to Kandy and your journey starts with a visit to the ancient Cave Temples of Dambulla Raja Maha Viharaya. Be prepared for a steep climb when you are visiting this temple, however you will not regret the view and magnificent ancient architecture after reaching the top. Further on the way to Kandy, you will visit a Spice Garden in Matale, where you will also have your lunch, and see the ancient stone temple of Nalanda Gedige.

On day 5 after breakfast, you will be taken to visit the most sacred temple in Sri Lanka, Sri Dalada Maligawa. There you can join for the early morning rituals and prayer services in the Buddhist temple. Optionally you can visit the Royal Botanical Garden. After lunch, you will be taken on the Kandy Walking City Tour, optionally followed by a Bar Hopping Session.

Today is an exciting day as you will be taken on one of the most scenic train rides in the country. You will be driven by car by your Tour Guide from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya and on the way you will get to see how the world-famous Ceylon tea is made and have the chance to participate in tea tasting sessions too. Then from Nuwara Eliya to Ella you will have the once-in-a-lifetime train ride. By the time you reach Ella your Tour Guide will be at Ella train station to pick you up and drop you off at the hotel for rest and relaxation.

On day seven, after breakfast, your Tour Guide will accompany you to hike the scenic mountain trail at Little Adam’s Peak. This calls for all adventurists who love a good hike! In the afternoon you will be taken to see the Insta famous Nine Arch Bridge in Ella. Later, In the evening you have the option of going for a night out or relaxing at the hotel.

On day 8, you will travel to Yala National Park via visiting Ravana Waterfall. Yala National Park is a wildlife sanctuary located in the southeast of Sri Lanka. It is home to a variety of wildlife species including leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, crocodiles, and a large number of bird species. The park is also known for its scenic landscapes, which include sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, and dense forests.

Today you can do a morning safari at Yala National Park, before heading to the south Coast of Sri Lanka if you would like. Heading to Mirissa – Mirissa is the largest fishing port on the south coast and is known for its tuna, mullet, snapper, and butterfish. In 1980 the first tourist accommodation was built however it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that tourism to the town started to dramatically increase.

Day 10 you spend at the south coast, you can enjoy relaxing at the beach, or you can do a whale watching tour in the early morning, depending on the weather on that day.

Today you will be driven to the commercial capital city of the country. On the way to Colombo, your tour guide will take you on a walking tour through what is the best-preserved colonial town in Sri Lanka, Galle, and the Dutch Fort. Later in the afternoon, when the heat dies down and city lights come up, you will be taken on the iconic Colombo City Tour where you get to know a bit about the local street food culture or option of going on a Colombo shopping tour.
